SWORN AMONGST Signs With RISING RECORDS
June 26, 2007Hull, U.K.-based metallers SWORN AMONGST have inked a deal with Rising Records. The band will enter the studio in October/November to record its new album for a tentative February 2008 release.
According to the group's official bio, the members of SWORN AMONGST have an average age of only 19 and play "a brutal combination of melodic metal and thrash strongly influenced by bands like PANTERA, MACHINE HEAD, IN FLAMES and METALLICA." The band "made masses of fans in the recent Snickers/Kerrang! Unsigned competition to win a slot at Download festival at Donington Park after being selected from nearly 3,000 other acts. The guys went down a storm, and were selected for the final three by a public vote and finished second overall, in turn ensuring many thousands of hits on their website daily. Recently the band also appeared at Bloodstock festival alongside acts such as PRIMAL FEAR, DEATHSTARS and MY DYING BRIDE, attracting a sizeable crowd during their main-stage performance.
Following the success of its debut album, "Derision of Conformity", SWORN AMONGST released a self-titled EP in January 2007.
